Polish words from letters with a blank
A blank stands for any letter but scores nothing. See how many more words the same letters make once you add one or two blanks.
How a blank works
A blank is a tile without a letter. When you place it, you choose the letter it represents, and that letter stays on the board for the rest of the game. A blank is worth 0 points, so it usually pays to let it stand in for a cheap letter and play valuable letters from your own tiles.
When to use it
A blank pays off most when it lets you play all seven tiles at once and earn the bonus. Avoid spending it on a move that scores only a few points more than your best move without it.
Reading the examples
Each example lists the words that use every letter on the rack. A ? marks a blank, and an underlined letter in a word is played with a blank. Scores are tile values only, without board premiums.
