Learn the tactic

With a word and its hook, you can play them in two steps: first the word, then next turn the hook letter that extends it and starts a new word across. It pays when there are few hooks and the extension leads to a premium. Your opponent may beat you to it.

A set-up works best with a rare hook you already hold.
