A valuable letter on a bonus square

A shorter word with a letter on a premium often beats a longer one.

Learn the tactic

The longest word does not always score the most. A letter premium multiplies one tile, so it pays most under a letter worth 3 points or more. Letter premiums apply before word premiums, and only in the move that covers the square.

Remember

Compare several placements before you play. Look for 2L and 3L squares under expensive letters.

Find your own move without seeing the answer. Hints remain available, but using them makes this an assisted attempt.
